Open E tuning

I'm really glad you did a lesson on open E tuning. I want to use it on a 8 string lap steel. How would you tune from low to high?

Thanks for the question, Andy! I answered a similar one over at the following link, which also includes a link to an article on "Sacred Steel" tunings, which are all variations of the open E.

My first inclination is to tune to E13, because that way I'll get all the fantastic Dominant 13 chord sounds, but you'll read more here:
